On March 30, 2025, Vietnam Airlines officially launched its direct Bangkok-Da Nang flight, enhancing travel accessibility between these two vibrant cities.
The grand opening ceremony took place at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung, alongside representatives from Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Thai Immigration Bureau. This new route underscores Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to strengthening tourism ties and promoting regional connectivity.
A Milestone for Vietnam-Thailand Tourism
During the launch event, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung emphasized the significance of this direct flight in fostering closer travel and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Thailand. He noted that nearly 1 million Vietnamese travelers visited Thailand in 2023-2024, while 500,000 Thai tourists explored Vietnam during the same period.
“With the introduction of this direct route, we expect even more travelers from both nations, as well as international visitors, to discover the best of Vietnam and Thailand,” said Ambassador Hung. He also reaffirmed the Vietnamese Embassy’s unwavering support for businesses looking to expand their presence in Thailand.
Connecting Two Premier Destinations
Da Nang is emerging as a must-visit destination for global travelers. The city’s stunning coastline, rich cultural heritage, and modern infrastructure make it an attractive alternative to other Southeast Asian hotspots. On the other hand, Bangkok remains a dynamic metropolis with an energetic mix of history, entertainment, and street food delights. This direct flight will allow travelers to experience both destinations effortlessly.
Ngô Trí Hưng, Vietnam Airlines’ Thailand Branch Director, highlighted that this new connection is a strategic move to increase brand presence and open up Da Nang’s tourism potential to a wider audience. He expressed confidence that this initiative would contribute significantly to the ongoing growth of the travel industry between the two countries.
Flight Schedule & Convenience
Vietnam Airlines will operate the Bangkok-Da Nang route four times per week—on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The inaugural flights, VN627 and VN626, took off successfully on March 30, setting the stage for a steady stream of travelers eager to explore new destinations.

- Flight VN626: Departs Bangkok at 18:05, arriving in Da Nang at 19:55.
