Entering 2026, as the city’s tourism sector accelerates its recovery and moves toward sustainable growth, aviation continues to play a key role in connecting visitor flows, expanding markets, and enhancing access to the destination.
Air traffic to Da Nang is forecast to record strong growth during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday of Binh Ngo 2026, with more than 1,500 take-offs and landings expected over the nine-day peak period. From February 14 to 22, 2026 (from the 27th day of the lunar month to the 6th day of Tet), the total number of flights arriving in Da Nang is estimated to exceed 1,500, representing an increase of around 37.8% compared to the Tet holiday in 2025. The average operating frequency is projected at approximately 175 flights per day.

Of the total, domestic flights are expected to reach 847, up about 30% year-on-year, averaging 94 flights per day and serving more than 130,000 passengers. International flights are estimated at 732, marking a sharp increase of around 47%, with an average of 81 flights per day and approximately 128,000 passengers.
Beyond the Tet peak, air traffic to Da Nang in January 2026 is also expected to maintain strong momentum. The total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang and Chu Lai airports is projected at around 4,500, up 15.4% compared to the same period in 2025, serving more than 671,000 passengers with an average of 145 flights per day. International flights alone are estimated at nearly 2,100, continuing to play a key role in driving visitor growth to Da Nang in the pre-Tet period.

Notably, long-term charter routes from Macau (China) operated by Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air, along with charter flights from Indonesia in late December 2025 and early January 2026, have helped diversify and strengthen the flow of international visitors to the city.
According Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the growth recorded during the Lunar New Year 2026 is built on the solid expansion and improved efficiency of Da Nang’s aviation sector in 2025. Last year, the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang and Chu Lai airports exceeded 48,000, up 12.8% compared to 2024. Air passenger arrivals to Da Nang reached more than 7.9 million, an increase of nearly 13% year-on-year, including over 3.3 million international passengers and more than 4.5 million domestic travelers, reflecting balanced growth across both market segments.
In 2025, Da Nang’s flight network continued to expand and diversify with the launch of new international routes and the resumption of previously suspended services, contributing to broader market reach, improved destination accessibility and enhanced competitiveness of Da Nang tourism in the region. Key routes include Da Nang–Yangon (Myanmar), Dubai–Bangkok–Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Osaka, as well as long-term charter flights from Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

At the same time, the entry of new airlines in 2025, such as Myanmar Airways, Philippine Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Scoot Airlines and Parata Air, has not only increased transport capacity but also created fresh momentum for international visitor growth, particularly during peak holiday seasons.

Looking ahead, Da Nang’s flight network is expected to continue expanding from March 2026, with Sun Phuquoc Airways set to operate regular Phu Quoc–Da Nang services, and Indonesia AirAsia planning to launch Bali–Da Nang flights from March 20 at a frequency of four flights per week, providing a further boost to the city’s tourism outlook.
